Ick. Sorry guys. I was kind of grounded. (Derivative Notebook for Latin I.. didn't exactly end up finished on time.) I guess I'm supposed to be working on my science fair project right now, but.. Did you guys hear about those guys in Louisville at that college who let some bank come and give out t-shirts that said stupid things like "Ten reasons why beer is better than a black man" So then they decided to "balance it out" they'd let Sistah Souljah come and speak with a $11,000 fund from that same bank (some apology) and she apparently said some things that many white students found quite offensive. A few days later, some of the new KKK members come to the campus and say they want $11,000 to speak on campus. Later they find little KKK flyers on the ground all over the campus and kiosk vandalism. The KKK says they're not responsible and the Louisville College can't really do anything because all of that stuff falls under free speech. Then they post this: http://www.louisville.edu/update/I'm not sure what to think of all this, except that I can now safely say that I'm not going to apply for the University of Louisville. |

On a lighter note, while my superbowl prediction was only slightly off, I do have a comment to make.

Now we can have computers generate BS for us. Government should see this.. it'd save 'em time. Don't you just love those random lyric generators?

I didn't know who this Natacha Atlas chick was until about ten minutes ago, but she has a really nice voice. She sounds a lot like Bjork, especially when she's singing in English.
How I ended up listening to this in the first place, I don't exactly remember.

All is well in the world of Mouse. I'm okay. I probably wouldn't be if I told my parents I hadn't finished my practice Latin exam yet, but all's well that ends well. I'll just do it before I go to bed. Ah, Latin! I got a 92 and a half on my exam! Which rounds up to 93. which is an A! And I thought I had failed. It was probably just because I got every single bonus mythology question right.. I also got a 92 on my Math exam. That keeps my lowest-score-92 thing going. So far. I still have to get my band exam better, but I have a feeling I did pretty well on that considering our band teacher's normal essay-grading technique. And I haven't made a meme for months.. Fanservice? Me? AHAHAHA HA HA HA Ha Ha ha. ha. Current Mood: peacefulCurrent Music: The Brilliant Green - Rainy Days, Never Stays |

First day back at school. Nothing interesting happened. Exam grades pretty good so far, nothing below a 92. Haven't got my report card back yet because I still have that library book out..
Oh, and I hope everyone had a nice International Hoodie Day. It was yesterday, if you didn't know. |

I woke up this morning at about 6:00, feeling pretty good. So I thought, "Gee, since I know my parents will make me do my science project first, why don't I go downstairs and stay on the computer until my parents wake up?" So as soon as I go downstairs and turn on the computer, I realize that my dad is, and has been, sleeping on the couch waiting for me to sneak downstairs and try and use the computer. He wasn't happy. But now, life is good, and I might make myself a new LJ layout. Or at least new pictures, and leave the HTML the same. Current Mood: mellowCurrent Music: Pierrot - Mad Sky |

Whee. Hopefully mom has gotten over the fact that I spent 7 (9 in parent-hours) hours on the computer yesterday without doing an ounce of homework (except I really did, but they don't really care because it was only research and I have nothing to show for it.) I got up early and watched The Spirits Within again because my parents wreck movies. (Mom asks questions and Dad shouts at her for asking them.) Best part was still the credits.. I was sitting there crying my eyes out, which has been happening quite often at the end of movies these days. If i'm patient enough to watch an entire movie, it has to be good, I guess. Anyway, suddenly this sad song ends and another one starts playing - and then I'm like, OMGWTF IT'S HYDE!!! YAAAAY! It was really funny. I had never heard the song before, but right away I knew it was L'Arc.. ah, my sad sad life. I think Borders actually carries a little Japanese variety CD that has Spirit Dreams Inside on it.. it also has Nakanaide by Mayu Kitaki and Skirt by Chara, both two of my favorite songs.. I really should buy it. =3 Current Mood: mellowCurrent Music: Spirit Dreams Inside - L'arc~en~Ciel |

I'm soooo glad to be home. The last day we were there I got to go and see Ryan and Jeff anf Hannah. Sor some reason I feel a lot more relaxed around them. They're sort of the most laid back of all of my relatives, plus they're closer to my age.. well, not really. There's just something about them that makes me feel like I'm not some scared little animal in a cage and everyone is looking at me. As apposed to everyone else, who does make me feel like that.
I never thought I'd say this, but I can't wait to go back to school. Just to get away from these mad people they call parents. I'm being driven insane. I don't care if they give me homework, it's got to be better than this. Plus I can stay after school for an extra hour and a half every day. You know your life is sad when you spend as much time at school as possible.. one of those two beings in the living room sitting on the couch is probably going to start yelling at me in a few seconds.. yup, there she goes.. because I've been on the computer for.. nine hours, she says. Actually, I've only been online for seven. So there. |

;_; I feel sooooo out of place here. I shouldn't, I know these people. But it's just really strange. They told me on Christmas that on the 26th we were going to drive to Minnesota.. 11 hours.. except my mother had to pee every hour so it was 14. My neck is still stiff and I generally feel crappy. So then I'm at the Christmas Party. My parents' philosophy seems to be "Okay, here are these people who are your family but you only really see once every three years, now play nice." And I feel like a total idiot. Don't get me wrong, I love 'em all to death, but I just don't know them. They're all these beautiful, intelligent people, and I'm this out-of-proportioned, plain-if-not-ugly, and nerdy introverted little teen who just kind of suddenly pushed my way into this family. This state. Heck, this country. How is it that Dad gets along so well with everyone? Then again, he's not the same when he's with us. I'm just feeling totally out of place today and I can't get on IRC to chat with the guys on IRC.
Claw, if you read this, tell Teloch and Nar that I miss 'em and the rest of the guys on DD. (I miss you too, FYI. And Astro and Ashy and Jose and if I name you all I'll be here forever. But I love you guys. So bye.) |

Whee. Ha ha. Today was funny. In fantasy club, we had a fake drinking party. Amanda brought these little plastic shot glasses and we all drank Ginger Ale.
That was about the only interesting think that happened all day.
Oh yeah, I was chosen to represent the school at the citywide Diversity Summit on thursday. I hope it'll be worth missing half the school day for.. argh. Why couldn't it be the second half? Guess I shouldn't complain. |

I have that ridiculous test in Language tomorrow. Memorize the forty-three linking and helping verbs and list them, in order that they appear on the page. The second-dumbest test I've ever had to take. The dumbest being the preposition test given by the same teacher where we had to memorize the sixty-three prepositions and list them in order by beginning letter. Thanks to Lauren for helping me study. Though I'm probably still going to fail. And I need to catch up on my derivative notebook in Latin class as well. I've never heard of Arjuna but I sure do like the soundtrack. Apparently it's some obscure Yoko Kanno stuff. This song is very fitting. Especially the title. Makes you think, ne?
